Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
Nest Physical Therapy is not affiliated with any insurance networks, which enables me to offer personalized care without the limitations that insurance often imposes, such as time constraints, authorization requirements, visit limits, and specific body part treatments. As an out-of-network provider, we have the freedom to work together in shaping your treatment plan. I can also provide the necessary documentation for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Do I need a prescription to work with you?
New York State is a direct access state, meaning you can visit a physical therapist for up to 10 sessions or 30 days (whichever comes first) without a referral from a medical doctor. After that, a prescription will be required. If needed, I can provide you with our plan of care to share with your doctor.
What does a typical session involve?
A typical session will incorporate a variety of modalities that you will actively engage in. I focus on the entire body with an emphasis on function. You can expect plenty of education, training on core and pelvic floor connection, breathing mechanics, functional movement patterns, and global strengthening. Manual therapy may be included as needed, which could involve both internal and external pelvic floor work, as well as postural adjustments and mobility exercises. Everything will be tailored to your specific needs and abilities, with continuous assessment throughout the process.
How do I know if my home space is suitable for pelvic health therapy?
I can work in any space! Just clear a small area on the floor, and I’ll take care of the rest. No special equipment is required; I bring everything necessary for our session.
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my session?
Think about what you hope to achieve during our session. You’ll have a full hour with me, so make the most of it! Almost anything is on the table, so feel free to broaden your perspective on what you want to accomplish. My expertise extends beyond traditional physical therapy, so don’t hesitate to bring your questions!
